Who We Are

True Faces Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering individuals harmed by energy-based cosmetic procedures such as RF microneedling, ultrasound, and laser treatments
We provide financial assistance for corrective surgery, connect survivors with ethical medical, legal, and insurance advocacy resources, and offer mental health and substance-abuse support. Through public awareness efforts and body-positivity education in schools and communities, we work to restore confidence, promote informed consent, and protect future generations.

Founder Story – Kristin Mass

In May 2025, Kristin underwent what was presented as a low-risk, non-invasive skin-tightening procedure called Sofwave. In the weeks that followed, her face began to change in ways she never expected. She experienced worsening pain, skin irregularities, and, most devastatingly, significant facial fat loss that left her appearance hollowed and her daily life deeply affected.

Kristin carefully documented her symptoms and sought legal help, but was turned away by more than twenty attorneys because her injuries were not considered life-threatening. Determined to find answers, she turned to social media, where she discovered a community of others with similar experiences. Through this journey, she learned that facial fat grafting and Renuva were among the few available treatment options for her condition.

Facing nearly $30,000 in medical costs and limited support, Kristin made a decision: no one should have to go through this alone. She founded True Faces Project to support other survivors, provide resources, and advocate for safer practices, transparency, and accountability in the aesthetics industry.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we create change. Together, we call our power back.
